Faye really is Faye-nomenal.

Faye is one of the most interesting, angry, strange, motivating, childish, self-aware, overconfident, under-appreciated, happy, selfless... this contradictory list of adjectives could go on in-(faye)-nitely.

And because Faye is so quirky and fun, despite the fact that she does some really intense stuff like marathons, and accounting, she’s not intimidating. Her carefree nature, and constant genuine encouragement draws you towards her and her interests.

And she does tons of cool shit.

Just a quick overview of the little excursions we've done in the last couple months include: dressing up as Micky and Minnie for a kids event, doing cartwheels on a golf course, running in the snow, programming, doing my first race, teaching me to snowboard.

She has been one of the most influential and inspirational people that I have met in Cape Breton. With an un-faye-ding belief in herself and others.

If it's not clear, one thing Faye loves to do is manipulate words to mold to her name. And this activity, sums up (at least in part) Faye. It seems so simple, I mean -ay is easy to rhyme, how hard of a task can it be? And then you try it... After about 5 words it gets hard, and you need a certain amount of creativity, patience and persistence to be able to continue.

But what it really shows, to me at least, is that Faye is taking the world around her and molding it into something she wants to work with rather than trying to fit into what already exists.

You might be thinking: it's just a silly game, and that I am reading way more into this than I should. And that is probably what I would think if I was reading this. But almost every one of Faye's actions does in some way, disrupt or challenge the world that she is living in, to make it conform a little better to her perception of it. And this is truly phenomenal.
